Dr. Jasmina Mimica, Psychotherapist (LMHC)
Jasmina is the practice founder and clinical supervisor. She is a PhD-level licensed mental health counselor, university professor, and business owner, living and working in New York City.
Jasmina’s clinical practice is informed by her professional and personal experience with multicultural perspectives. She relocated to NYC from Europe, following an international career as an executive in the business and finance sector. She received her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from St. Bonaventure, and completed her PhD in mental health counseling at Pace University, with a special focus on attachment, relationship satisfaction, and therapeutic approaches to consensual non-monogamy. As Assistant Professor and Director of Clinical Training, she teaches clinical courses and supervises emerging clinicians at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology in New York. Jasmina is an active member of the Association of Counseling Sexology and Sexual Wellness.
As part of her clinical education, Jasmina completed extensive training in emotionally focused therapy (EFT) for couples and individuals. Her contribution to couples therapy is the proposed model of adapting EFT - the gold standard of couples therapy - for consensually non-monogamous (CNM) relationships. Jasmina is continuously engaged in CNM relationship research, and collaborates with advocates and legal experts. Jasmina’s clinical and research expertise also includes adult attachment, romantic relationship satisfaction, and emotional regulation strategies, as well the impact of early life trauma on relational health.
Jasmina is involved in ongoing sex therapy certification training, and works extensively with people who are navigating sexual intimacy issues, both in individual and couples (relationship) therapy, including desire discrepancy, anorgasmia, painful intercourse, and other sexual challenges.
