OUR Team
Jasmina Mimica, Psychotherapist (LMHC)
Jasmina is the practice founder and clinical supervisor. She is a licensed mental health counselor, adjunct professor, doctoral candidate and business owner, living and working in New York City.
Jasmina’s clinical practice is informed by her professional and personal experience with multicultural perspectives. She relocated to NYC from Europe, following an international career as an accomplished executive in the business and finance sector. She received her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from St. Bonaventure, and is currently completing her doctoral (PhD) degree at Pace University, with a special focus on therapeutic approaches to consensual non-monogamy and different intimacy and attachment issues. As a faculty member of the Psychology Department, she teaches several psychology and counseling courses at Pace University and Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology in New York.
As part of her clinical education, Jasmina completed extensive training in emotionally focused therapy (EFT) for couples and individuals. Her contribution to couples therapy is the proposed model of adapting EFT - the gold standard of couples therapy - for consensually non-monogamous (CNM) relationships. Jasmina is continuously engaged in CNM relationship research, and collaborates with advocates and legal experts. Besides CNM, her research includes adult attachment, romantic relationship satisfaction, emotional regulation strategies, and the impact of early life trauma on relational health.
Jasmina works with people who are navigating relationship and intimacy issues, both in individual and couples (relationship) therapy.
