Podcasts

Psychotherapy/psychology podcasts have been a great resource in my professional development. Therapy can be a lonely profession. Except for occasional recorded sessions for supervision purposes, the work is never observed directly. This makes it difficult to share, compare, and learn from others. Podcasts give you a decent approximation of an actual session, along with valuable insights into different styles and interventions. I found them to be inspiring and helpful, both professionally and personally.

Podcasts listed as those that I have enjoyed the most in the past few years (in no particular order). I will continue to update the list as I discover new ones.

Lovelink - Two Brooklyn-based psychotherapists discuss love, sex, and relationships with high-profile clinicians.

Therapist Uncensored - Interviews with distinguished researchers and practitioners, from the lens of attachment theory. Primarily targeted to mental health professionals.

Where Should We Begin - The wisdom, charm, and expertise of Ester Perel, in unscripted single sessions.

Dear Therapists - Lori Gottlieb (author of the wonderful book “Maybe You Should Talk To Someone”) and pleasantly-accented Guy Winch in unscripted sessions with call-in clients.

The Leading Edge - Great resource for couples therapists working within the EFT (emotionally focused therapy) model.

Three Associating - Two psychoanalysts discuss cases with their relational psychoanalytic supervisor Gill (in my opinion, the archetype of a great supervisor).

Lives of the Unconscious - Analysis of common clinical issues through a psychoanalytic lens.
